Women’s Surgery

Gynecologic surgery covers a broad spectrum of procedures involving the female reproductive organs. Hysterectomy, tubal ligation, and many diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed at Bay. Many of these procedures are performed through a laparoscope, which permits the surgeon to operate through a smaller incision. Procedures to treat urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and various types of cancer are routinely performed at Bay.

Bay Medical Sacred Heart also employs the use of the revolutionary DaVinci® robot for many of our gynecologic surgeries. Specially trained surgeons and staff use this exciting new technology to perform hysterectomies and other procedures, making the surgery less traumatic for the patient and reducing recovery time. Bay Medical Sacred Heart was the first hospital in the area to use the DaVinci® robot.
